Sneaky online censorship move by Shell Climate Change VP John MacArthur
When I revisited MacArthur’s Linkedin page yesterday, I discovered that all trace of his remarks and the adverse comments they had attracted have vanished.

John is not having a good week.
A few days ago he posted comments on his Linkedin page promoting Shell’s new climate change campaign on social media.
His timing could not have been worse.
The social media initiative, in which he played a key role, backfired spectacularly.
Instead of generating discussion about climate change, it ignited a firestorm of criticism against Shell from climate change campaigners including Greta Thunberg.
The Twitter hullabaloo resulted in a flood of news media articles e.g.

His own posting on Linkedin attracted strong adverse comments, including from a former Shell leader/guru, Hans Bouman.
When I revisited MacArthur’s Linkedin page yesterday, I discovered that all trace of his remarks and the adverse comments they had attracted have vanished.
This act on his part can fairly be described as sneaky censorship not only of his own comments but also the controversial views they attracted in response by climate change sceptics.
