absolutely fed-up

I’m absolutely fed-up dealing with this company. My student daughter lived for one year in a bed sit supplied by Shell energy. I’m authorised to discuss her account.

There have been errors by Shell with starting and ending the account. We asked for a final bill at move out and twice since, no final bill received but did receive a letter from debt recovery company.
I do need to see the final bill given earlier stated errors, it’s not a large amount of money and she is able and willing to settle on receipt of the final bill. read more

SINGAPORE, Sept 18 (Reuters) – Royal Dutch Shell RDSa.L said on Saturday a fire broke out at a unit at its refining and petrochemicals manufacturing site at Pulau Bukom in southwestern Singapore on Friday morning and has been put out.

The site, which houses Shell’s largest wholly-owned refinery with a capacity of 500,000 barrels-per-day (bpd), continues to be in operation and there is no impact on supply, a spokesperson told Reuters, adding that the fire was extinguished about 4-1/2 hours after it broke out. read more

Terrible service numerous phone calls…

Terrible service numerous phone calls to sort issues, customer service very good at stating things will be sorted but actually haven’t been in reality. Final straw today as a letter arrived from the debt collector before we’ve even received the final bill we were told was on its way! My husband telephoned to sort out and escalate but told no management available. If this is not sorted my student daughter may have credit issues through this companies incompetence, let alone the anxiety caused by receiving such a letter ! Throughout we have provided readings, moving in and out dates, at one point a helpful lady appeared to have resolved one issue but then others occurred ! Other reviews state good customer service but sadly no resolutions in our case as of yet. read more

This review relates to Shell Energy Broadband.

If I could give zero or negative stars I would do so. Following the end of my contract I received multiple emails telling me I hadn’t returned the router and that I owed £35. I wrote to the CEO to complain, enclosing proof of receipt of the router by Shell. In the follow up call I received from Shell I was told to ignore any further emails from them. But I have now received an email from a firm of debt collectors. I will be making a formal complaint to Ofcom. read more

The House Oversight Committee has widened its probe into the oil and gas industry’s role in spreading disinformation about the role of fossil fuels in causing global warming, calling on top executives from Exxon Mobil, Chevron, BP and Royal Dutch Shell, as well as the lobby groups American Petroleum Institute and the United States Chamber of Commerce, to testify before Congress next month.

In letters sent to the industry executives Thursday morning, the committee also requested information, including internal documents and emails on climate policy going back to 2015, related to the companies’ and groups’ efforts to undermine climate policy. read more

Royal Dutch Shell even anticipated the current wave of lawsuits: an internal study in 1998 forecast a scenario in which environmental groups would band together to file “a class action lawsuit on the grounds of neglecting what scientists, including [the industry’s] own, have been saying for years”.

Indeed, last May the Netherlands branch of the advocacy group Friends of the Earth won a landmark case against Shell. A Dutch court ordered Shell to bring its global operations in line with the Paris agreement goal of limiting temperature rise to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels. This will require Shell to reduce both its own and its customers’ emissions by a staggering 45% from 2019 levels by 2030. Shell is appealing the ruling. read more

Royal Dutch Shell PLC said Thursday that it will build a 820,000 metric ton-a-year biofuels facility at its Energy and Chemicals Park in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The energy company said it has reached a final investment decision on the project, which is expected to start production of low-carbon fuels in 2024. read more

    Don’t bother getting Shell energy broadband

    Shell energy broadband appear to be very disorganized, so be prepared for unexpected charges and constant email follow ups:

    1. They failed to correctly setup my direct debit three times, so I just gave up and paid with digitally each month.
    2. They calculated my final bill (that was in credit) using the discount code used for the contract. This effectively gave me a 10% reduction in my refund.
    3. They charged me for the router that was returned. I have provided the shipping details plus evidence that they signed and received it, but I’m still waiting for this charge to be cancelled. read more

    Shocking experience with Shell

    Shocking experience with Shell. Technical issues with the quality of the calls made. Agents not replying. Agents terminating the call and not calling back. No access to supervisory staff. Extremely poor customer service interface. No coordination between payments section and customer service. On multiple levels the company failed. The only sense of professionalism conveyed was Ermin who took ownership of the problem and was able to find a suitable solution. I would have provided more extensive feedback but the only recourse provided is this forum. Otherwise an extremely negative experience. read more

    Bad Mistake

    Wow so far so bad can’t get the sky q boxes to work! The broadband band drops out for some reason. The router is embarrassing cheap and a horrible design. The Wi-Fi range is poor so my kitchen Alexa will not work or my ring door bell. No one in the family is talking to me now as its so so so bad!! This was not a good decision by me, wish I stayed with sky!! read more

    Avoid this company like the plague, I took over this property, Shell Energy was then the provider, unable to get through via the tel number, an automated message states leave your account number and tel number and someone will call back, this never happens, I switched to my previous supplier and I am still receiving computer generated letters / demands stating I owe them money, some of these letters state that if I don’t pay it will effect my credit rating, appalling, get your act together starting with a customer service tel contact. read more

    The jab or be sacked dilemma is not an easy issue for Shell senior management to grapple with.

    There is a valid concern expressed in the recently leaked Shell internal information, that mandating covid jabs for employees and contractors risks violating Shell’s business principles. 

    That, in turn, might damage Shell’s reputation if that’s possible, bearing in mind that Shell is already held in low esteem as a polluting member of Big Oil.
