National security review stalls sale of Shell U.S. refinery to Mexican state oil firm
Erwin Seba: Publishing date: Nov 30, 2021
HOUSTON — A national security review has delayed the sale of Royal Dutch Shell’s controlling interest in a Texas refinery to Mexico’s national oil company Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Shell said on Tuesday.
Shell in May disclosed a sale of its 50% interest in the 302,800 barrel-per-day (bpd) Deer Park, Texas, refinery outside Houston to partner Pemex for about $596 million.
The closing was expected as early as Wednesday.read more

I agree with others don’t touch them with a barge pole. Awful signal, have had to concede and pay to be let out of the contract. Grumpy and impatient customer service, no doubt in part because they must have so many disappointed customers to deal with. Should never have made the change. Especially given the damage the company has done to the environment over the years, I should have known better. AVOID.

The broadband speeds have never matched those that I signed up for, never even reaching the lower end of the range. Since beginning of October I am sometimes operating on less than 1Mbs. Customer service take more than a week to respond and the chat service can’t intervene with an open complaint. Six weeks of seriously substandard service, although, of course, they do regularly take the monthly subscription. Shocking, do not touch this company!read more

Shell faces activist outcry over planned seismic survey of South African coast
By PAUL BURKHARDT and Laura Hurst: Bloomberg
Nov. 29, 2021 at 10:24 am Updated Nov. 29, 2021 at 7:10 pm
Royal Dutch Shell faces a growing campaign against its plans to conduct a seismic survey of potential oil and gas reservoirs off South Africa’s rugged coastline.
The standoff is the latest example of environmental groups’ push to halt oil and gas developments before they even get going – an effort that has been buoyed by an International Energy Agency report saying no new fields can be tapped if the world wants to prevent damaging climate change.read more
New customer, service didn’t work from day one, insisted they would charge me from day one. Then they tried to charge me a further £65 to get an engineer out to fix a problem that they hadn’t solved whilst setting up the service. Its a front for talk talk, shambolic customer service, wouldn’t use again.read more
Completely useless, my elderly mother’s phone line wasn’t receiving incoming calls and despite several days of hanging on a phone hers and mine, could not contact anyone. Tried the website which again is so poorly laid out found a chat option but it wouldn’t let you leave a message on any browser. Have had to get the Careline company to adjust their box so that they can speak to her if she has a problem. Would give no stars if it were possible.read more
Shell is set to spend the next four months searching for oil and gas along a virtually untouched South African coastline.
The million-pound company plans to look for fossil fuels underneath the sea along the Eastern Cape’s Wild Coast – a stretch of land aptly named for its untamed wilderness and lack of major industrialisation.
But Shell’s ships will have to conduct three-dimensional seismic surveys to do this, using underwater explosions to record ground vibrations which can indicate what natural resources lay beneath.read more

Project Fear exposed: Four major warnings Remainers got wrong – as Shell relocates to UK
BREXIT BRITAIN’S latest victory will see oil giant Shell relocate its headquarters to the UK has fuelled new Frexit calls, with a leading campaigner insisting it once again proves how Project Fear was “wrong on everything”.
In a huge win for Brexit Britain, Royal Dutch Shell is scrapping its dual share structure and moving its head office to the UK from the Netherlands. The company is dropping “Royal Dutch” from its name – part of its identity since 1907 – to become Shell Plc. The firm has been at the centre of a bitter row with Dutch authorities over the country’s 15 percent dividend withholding tax on some of its shares, which makes them less attractive for investors.read more
Public outcry continues to grow over the Shell Wild Coast saga. The oil and gas giant, and brand seen on MANY petrol stations, seems to be losing the support of a few petrol station owners. Shell will begin to blast the shores of the Wild Coast with “seismic surveys”. This is all in the hope of finding pockets of oil or gas.read more

Shell’s departure deals blow to Dutch pro-business credentials
25 Nov 2021
Stef Blok had an unenviable task for any economy minister last week: explaining how his country was about to lose one of its most high-profile multinational companies.
The decision by oil and gas group Royal Dutch Shell to end its dual corporate structure and move its tax base to the UK, after being in the Netherlands for more than a century, was a “sensitive loss” for the country, Blok told the Dutch parliament. It is particularly embarrassing for the pro-business caretaker government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.read more

Listen and read proof in audio and transcript form of Shell CEO Ben van Beurden’s cover-up tactics in the OPL 245 Nigerian corruption scandal. The instruction given by him in the covertly recorded call to CFO Simon Henry was at odds with Shell’s claimed core business principles. Cover-up and obstruction, instead of transparency and integrity, says Shell critic John Donovan
