The Dutch offshore sector is very concerned about the business climate in the Netherlands. 

The increasing anti-fossil sentiment is a thorn in the side of the sector.

Earlier this year, oil and gas multinational Shell announced to move its headquarters from The Hague to London . The move may have been prompted by the desire to simplify the share structure, but many see that anti-fossil sentiment also plays an important role in that move.

According to companies, the fragmentation in the House of Representatives and the increasing polarization between parties does not help the development of a long-term vision of the future earning capacity of the Netherlands. “Apparently there is a perception in the House that the departure of Shell or Boskalis does not matter,” said a director.
