Oil and Gas UK will be renamed Offshore Energies UK from February 14, the body said on Monday.
It follows a year-long strategic review by the group, which said the change reflects “the evolving nature of the industry”.

Shell and BP could find it ‘impossible’ to work in Russia if it invades Ukraine, experts have warned.
Western countries have threatened to impose crippling sanctions on Moscow after it began building up troops on the Ukrainian border.
Analysts said soaring oil prices could cushion the blow for Shell, BP and other firms affected by the rules.

BROADBAND. JUST DON’T DO IT FOLKS. I’ve been trying for 17 days to transfer service to a new address and it’s proving impossible: Calls are deferred with no promised callback. Webchat requests are deferred, or the webchat isn’t even manned – so you wait in queue position 1 for an hour for nothing. Emails, even COMPLAINT emails are ignored. I’ve now cancelled but even getting that confirmed is proving impossible because I’m unable to get a response.read more
Absolutely chronic customer service coupled with consistent harassment and threats. Impossible to speak to anything other than a bot (currently I am no 70 awaiting “chat” service). This company should be investigated by the ombudsman, it is simply not fit to trade
No immediate option when moved across from Green, but its fair to say they couldn’t organise the proverbial in a brewery. Two ‘tickets’ lodged for tech problems 10 days ago now and simply heard nothing from them since. The nature of the problems are costing them so in no hurry to chase them up!read more

Waste of space. They give you a 3rd hand refurbished router that doesn’t meet current standards. When you complain they offer to upgrade you (5 times during a 30 minute call), to a package that costs the same as the one you have just switched from.

Located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China, the electrolyzer will produce green hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles during the Winter Olympics.
Wael Sawan, Shell’s integrated gas, renewable and energy solutions director, says electrolyzer is “the largest in our portfolio to date.”
While there is excitement in some quarters about green hydrogen’s potential, the vast majority of hydrogen generation is currently based on fossil fuels.
A 20 megawatt hydrogen electrolyzer described as “one of the world’s largest” has begun operations, energy major Shell said Friday.
Located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China, the electrolyzer will produce green hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles being used at Zhangjiakou’s competition zone during the Winter Olympics, which are due to open on Feb. 4. Pennsylvania ethylene cracker plant more than 95% built as Shell prepares for operation
CHRISSY SUTTLES| Beaver County TimesPOTTER TWP. — A Pennsylvania petrochemical plant years in the making will likely be online in a matter of months, with crews putting the finishing touches on Shell’s ethane cracker facility.
Shell Chemicals on Monday confirmed the company’s multi-billion dollar Potter Township complex, long considered one of the largest construction projects in the nation, is now more than 95% complete.
The company has yet to announce a firm opening date, but crews began start-up activities early last year around the time Shell CEO Ben Van Beurden announced the chemical plant will be “fully operational” in 2022.read more
The “Quest” plant in Alberta, Canada, owned by oil giant Shell, has previously been touted as a “thriving example” of how CCS is working to significantly reduce carbon emissions.
However, an investigation by watchdog group Global Witness, showed that while 5 million tons of carbon dioxide had been prevented from escaping into the atmosphere at the plant since 2015, it released a further 7.5 million tons of greenhouse gases over the same period.
In response, a spokesperson for Shell told CNBC via email that the analysis was “simply wrong.”
One of the only facilities in the world that uses carbon capture and storage technology (CCS) to reduce the emissions of hydrogen production has been found to emit far more greenhouse gas emissions than it captures.
The Quest plant in Alberta, Canada, owned by oil giant Shell and designed to capture carbon emissions from oil sands operations and safely store them underground, has previously been touted as a “thriving example” of how CCS is working to significantly reduce carbon emissions.read more

Listen and read proof in audio and transcript form of Shell CEO Ben van Beurden’s cover-up tactics in the OPL 245 Nigerian corruption scandal. The instruction given by him in the covertly recorded call to CFO Simon Henry was at odds with Shell’s claimed core business principles.
