I would give zero stars if I could. The customer service is crap. I’ve had no broadband for 6 days. Told internal fault by 3 people over more than 3 hrs I was on phone. They booked engineer who didn’t turn up. Phoned them and told external fault and would update me in 2 hrs..of course not heard from them then when asked was told they dont work weekends so God knows if they’ll ever fix it. Opened complaint heard nothing. As soon as they fix it …if ever I will change provider. These are the worst. Time wasting useless liars that are completely incompetentread more
Worst company I’ve ever dealt with, they don’t communicate properly, their online systems aren’t managed properly you can’t access your accounts or even set up an account, the customer service team transfer to wrong department multiple times because they couldn’t be bothered to deal with the query. Rang 3 weeks ago to let them know we moved into a property and update all the details, all the meter readings were given and I rang back today and they have no recollection or any details of anything. Unprofessional uneducated staff throughout the company.read more

Large-scale polluter Shell loses legal battle
The Guardian: Isabella Kaminski: Thu 29 Dec 2022 12.00 GMT
Between 2004 and 2007, the villages of Oruma, Goi and Ikot Ada Udo in Nigeria were polluted with oil from infrastructure built by Royal Dutch Shell. More than 15 years later, in late December, the company finally agreed to pay four farmers and their communities €15m in compensation and install a leak detection system after a court in the Netherlands ruled that Shell’s Nigerian subsidiary was liable and the parent company had a duty of care.read more

“Appalling!! Was with post office, brilliant but they sold out to Shell. Wish I had left then. Just moved home and as stuck on contract decided to stay with Shell, huge mistake!!!No Internet, no service at all. Complete shambles of a company. Avoid at all costs. Complaints are totally ignored. Rude staff on phone and emails ignored. Government should pull plug on them as Broadband provider.”

Appalling customer service, they cancelled my broadband by mistake and I had to call them to fix it, no communication, no apologies, nothing. Long wait times on the phone, incompetent staff to say the least, will never use their services again.

Awful experience, unreliable slow broadband. Speed was ok at the beginning but got progressively slower. I complained and the speed improved then got even slower than before to the point of being unusable. Couldn’t wait to leave. After six weeks of not being asked to return the router I binned it then two months after termination I was asked to return the router and it would cost £35 if i didn’t.read more
Absolutely appalling customer service. On the phone for 3 days and still no internet. Spoke with numerous agents many of whom hung up and finally decided to terminate my contract. “We have questions to answer” about single-use plastic waste, reveal internal emails from Shell
24 Dec 2022
Shell is under scrutiny as a result of internal emails put into the public domain relating to the controversial Shell Petrochemicals Complex situated along the Ohio River in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
The multi-billion-dollar Shell facility was fully operational in November after years of construction and has already been charged by state environmental agencies for exceeding the annual limit for volatile organic compounds that create lung-damaging smog. Among the documents, released on December 9, was an email correspondence within Shell’s communications team.read more

The sum was agreed in negotiations between the oil company and campaign group Friends of the Earth.

AMSTERDAM, Dec 23 (Reuters) – Shell (SHEL.L) will pay 15 million euros ($15.9 million) to communities in Nigeria that were affected by multiple oil pipeline leaks in the Niger Delta, the oil company on Friday said in a joint statement with the Dutch division of Friends of the Earth.

Report: Output from Shell’s Prelude FLNG Shut Again
BY Bartolomej Tomic, managing editor of Offshore Engineer.
December 22, 2022
Shell has stopped production at its Prelude floating LNG plant off Western Australia after a fire.
A Shell spokesperson told Reuters on Thursday that the fire at the giant FLNG unit “was rapidly extinguished.”
The 488-meter-long, Shell-operated, Prelude FLNG unit forms part of an offshore development that produces natural gas from the remote namesake field, located approximately 475 km north-northeast of Broome in Western Australia. The Prelude is the world’s largest FLNG unit.read more
Avoid Shell Energy! They are an appallingly bad company. They took over as our energy supplier over a year ago and still haven’t refunded the money they owe us (i expect this is the case for many of their other customers). They couldn’t care less about their customers, rude and unhelpful customer services staff (when you eventually do get through)We’ve wasted hours and hours of our time chasing the money they owe us only to be fobbed off every time, absolutely terrible, avoid at all costs, there are plenty of other energy suppliers available, see all the other bad reviews online of Shell and you will see that this is not an isolated instance! Disgusting behaviour from a company that made £10 billion in profits in the last quarter alone but refuses to refund £300 that they owe. It’s incredible that companies like this are allowed to get away with it.read more

The instruction given by him in the covertly recorded call to CFO Simon Henry was at odds with Shell’s claimed core business principles.
