Shell may have to write off up to $1 billion that it has invested in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine increased the likelihood that it may never be allowed to start up, analysts have warned.
The oil major has bankrolled 10 per cent of the cost of constructing the 750-mile pipeline under the Baltic Sea, which is designed to double the flow of gas from Russia directly to Germany.
The project, owned by Gazprom, the Russian state gas giant, has long been opposed by America on security grounds. Construction was completed in September, but it has not gained approval from Germany to start up.read more
Located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China, the electrolyzer will produce green hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles during the Winter Olympics.
Wael Sawan, Shell’s integrated gas, renewable and energy solutions director, says electrolyzer is “the largest in our portfolio to date.”
While there is excitement in some quarters about green hydrogen’s potential, the vast majority of hydrogen generation is currently based on fossil fuels.
A 20 megawatt hydrogen electrolyzer described as “one of the world’s largest” has begun operations, energy major Shell said Friday.
Located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China, the electrolyzer will produce green hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles being used at Zhangjiakou’s competition zone during the Winter Olympics, which are due to open on Feb. 4. Once the Games finish, commercial and public transport will use the hydrogen.read more
The Netherlands has sharply rebuked Germany for ordering extra gas from a vast Dutch field that was supposed to be shut down because extraction has caused a series of earthquakes.
Stef Blok, the outgoing Dutch economy minister, said he was “seriously concerned” about the unexpected additional strain on the Groningen field, which could further destabilise the region’s geology.
The local government has threatened to sue over the decision and one MP in the provincial parliament said the German order was a threat to the population’s safety.read more

A concentrated anonymous effort is underway to kill or hack our shellnazihistory.com website.
There is clearly malicious intent.
According to Jetpack Monitoring, a bombardment of almost 50,000 *total blocked brute force attacks were made on the website Shell Nazi History .com in the last month. See Jetpack screenshot below.
We can only speculate on who might have the motive and any prior form to take such sinister action against a non-commercial entirely free to use highly informative website? The site includes undisputed evidence from Shell’s own files, that Shell’s support for the Nazis resulted in the deaths of Shell employees.read more

By John Donovan (last updated 5 Sept 2021)
Last week, a CYBERSECURITY INTELLIGENCE outfit acting for Shell issued a 5-day ultimatum on behalf of Shell to the company hosting my royaldutchshell.website.
I would not have had a clue about the ultimatum letter if the hosting company had not tipped me off about what was going on behind my back at Shell’s direction.
