SHUT DOWN SHELL

Posted by John Donovan

The 2023 Shell Plc AGM has been disrupted by repeated interventions by a succession of activists all repeating the refrain “SHUT DOWN SHELL”.

Shell chair Sir Andrew Mackenzie appears to be  fighting a losing battle to move on with the meeting…

Shell Chairman Andrew Mackenzie struggled to kick off the energy behemoth’s annual general shareholder meeting on Tuesday, thanks to those pesky climate activists who just couldn’t resist making a scene. They sang, they shouted, and they were eventually dragged away one by one by security personnel. Ah, such fond memories of last year’s meeting, which was also marred by these annoying interruptions, causing a delightful three-hour delay. read more

I would never usually bother to leave a bad review but feel the need to share about avoiding Shell! Unfortunately the only positive thing to say about Shell is that the internet is ok (if it works) but the customer service (if you manage to get through before being on hold for an hour) is terrible. I’ve been lied to about my rights, had issues with resolving any internet problems (seems to take a while to resolve anything, even when the internet doesn’t work at all). The router they send is terrible and randomly died but Shell didn’t take responsibility and charged me for an engineer visit (which they later refunded after multiple calls disputing). I’ve had issues with connection and speed. Whether it’s zero internet or bad connection and poor speed. read more

DO NOT TAKE ON SHELL BROADBAND: Charlatans, daylight robbery

17 June 2022

Worse mistake was to take on Shell…

Worse mistake was to take on Shell broadband. They are rip off company. You are given a service blindly. You have a 2 week “cooling off” period but thats BEFORE u have a service. This should go against consumer rights. Stuck with a company i do not want otherwise its £300 to cancel. What a p@ss take. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SHELL BROADBAND IN ANY WAY OR SHAPE! stinging me for £35 for a router they did not clearly state needed to be returned. 3 phone calls later and they still charging me. Its a mickey mouse company whose logo is ” rip as many people off as possible. Steal their money and make it impossible for ppl to cancel. Charlatans, daylight robbery. It may be a cheaper provider but this is the reason why. I agreed 21.99 only to find they are charging me 23.99. Another compliant still no feedback. DO NOT TAKE ON SHELL BROADBAND. read more

The worst broadband company I have ever had to deal with

21 MAY 2022

The content below is sourced from current verifiable customer reviews of Shell Energy published on Trustpilot.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. The worst broadband company I have ever had to deal with. No one seems to know what they are talking about. Took ages to set up as staff kept getting details wrong, such bad connection I would give up watching a programme and go to bed, cheap tacky router which they actually wanted returning when I moved, router was is storage as I intended on continuing with shell when I found a house (living with my daughter at the moment). Now they want to charge me for the router and charge me for the rest of the year – nearly £200 – as I ‘have a contract with them’. All other companies connected with me selling my house have been great, occasional charge for ending a contract early but all expected. This company just want your money, not interested in the customer. the fact that they want money for providing no service is disgusting. One very helpful member of staff said she would refer me to the complaints department, then quite happily told me I would still owe them to the end of the year! Another unhelpful member of staff said she ‘understood’ why I was annoyed at the cost, but she clearly didn’t ‘understand’ at all – no one “understands” that it is fair to charge a customer for the year with no provision of a service. My ‘complaints’ phone call was a message to call them back! Great customer service! They obviously have so many complaints they only have time for one call. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE read more

Disastrous Post Office migration to Shell Energy Broadband

How can people be allowed to “run” a company in that way??? No explanation, no contact except from me, no cure in the offing!!! Keep well away from that lot if you are looking for Broadband and Email services.

Trustpilot review of Shell Energy Broadband

Post Office migration to Shell Energy Broadband

Transferred to Shell Energy Broadband from Post Office broadband due to takeover a year ago. Final move over was 3 weeks ago. Since then I have had multiple negative tries to access my emails. When I actually get to my emails, the page vanishes in anything from 20 seconds to 10minutes. I have contacted the by “chat” maybe 20 times and did discover that all Post Office “migrants” were having the same trouble. read more

Shell Energy Broadband WiFi doesn’t work. Getting Support is Impossible!

WiFi doesn’t work. Getting support is impossible!

I had Shell Energy broadband installed yesterday after waiting a week for an engineer. The internet connectivity seems ok, but the WiFi won’t switch on. Connecting with the support last night on webchat was painful. It took 2 hours to get to an agent, who then brushed me off with *switch on your WiFi” and “have you tried your username and password?” Before dropping the call. I’ve been holding for their telephone “support” for over an hour. read more

Shell sorry and pledges to stop buying Russian oil

BBC NEWS

Shell sorry and pledges to stop buying Russian oil

Shell has pledged to stop buying oil from Russia as it apologised for its purchase of cheap Russian crude at the weekend.

The energy giant also said it would close all its service stations in the country and stop all current work in the country.

Shell came under huge criticism at the weekend after it purchased a cargo of Russian crude at a discounted price.

Its boss said on Tuesday, however, that it was wrong to buy Russian oil.

“We are acutely aware that our decision last week to purchase a cargo of Russian crude oil… was not the right one and we are sorry,” Mr van Beurden said. read more

Shell gripe website sucked into US litigation between warring Shell global security spymasters

Our article – “Spectacular falling out of ‘Security Professionals’ at the top of Shell” – is reprinted on several pages of a recently filed 177-page “Exhibit A” in an astonishing lawsuit involving the head of Shell Global Corporate Affairs Security, James W.D. Hall.

Mr Hall has faced a succession of accusers, starting with the Security Manager for Shell Oil Company, Crockett Oaks III. Shell settled his claim. Mr Mike Oliveri, another guy with a senior military/security affairs background also sued Shell on related allegations involving Mr Hall. Mr Oliveri is a decorated war veteran, a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Mr Hall’s current accuser is Mr Walied Shater a former US Secret Service agent. read more

Shell’s arch critic John Donovan has secured the website domain name for Shell Plc

Shell’s arch critic John Donovan has secured the website domain name for Shell PLC

The shellplc.website will become operational in January to coincide with the implementation of the new name for Royal Dutch Shell Plc: Shell PLC.

Shell has dropped the Dutch Royal Family link and ditched the Dutch part of the former Anglo-Dutch multinational company, which will now be solely a British company with its HQ solely in London, paying UK taxes.

The Royal Dutch Shell Group self-evidently was not well disposed to the taxes imposed by the Dutch left-wing government or its support for climate change policies and parties suing Shell.  read more

Shell ditches the Dutch, moves to London in share structure overhaul

PUBLISHED MON, NOV 15 20212:30 AM  KEY POINTS
  • Royal Dutch Shell said on Monday it would scrap its dual share structure and move its head office to Britain from the Netherlands, pushed away by Dutch taxes and facing climate pressure in court as the energy giant shifts from oil and gas.
  • The Anglo-Dutch firm has been in a long-running tussle with the Dutch authorities over the country’s 15% dividend withholding tax, which Shell sought to avoid paying with its two share classes. Its new structure would resolve that issue.
  • The Dutch government said on Monday it was “unpleasantly surprised” by Shell’s plans to move to London from The Hague.

Royal Dutch Shell said on Monday it would scrap its dual share structure and move its head office to Britain from the Netherlands, pushed away by Dutch taxes and facing climate pressure in court as the energy giant shifts from oil and gas.

The company, which long faced questions from investors about its dual structure and had recently been hit by a Dutch court order over its climate targets, aims to drop “Royal Dutch” from its name – part of its identity since 1907 – to become Shell Plc. read more

Shell Energy Broadband nothing but trouble from the start

12 Nov 2021:

The content below is sourced from current customer reviews of Shell Energy Broadband published on Trustpilot.

The worst company ever

I got broadband with them and have had nothing but trouble from the start they scammed me their customer service is the worst I’ve ever had to handle. Don’t waste your time go elsewhere avoid at all costs

Disgraceful and unapologetic Customer Service for errors

The Broadband provision was fine and during my contract term I only needed to contact Customer Service once, which was when I found it not the easiest company to contact and slow to respond. BUT my big problems started when I invoked my right to switch provider at the end of my minimum contract term. read more

There is clearly malicious intent.

According to Jetpack Monitoring, a bombardment of almost 50,000 *total blocked brute force attacks were made on the website Shell Nazi History .com in the last month. See Jetpack screenshot below.

We can only speculate on who might have the motive and any prior form to take such sinister action against a non-commercial entirely free to use highly informative website?
